Position Title: Executive Director

Location: Telluride, CO

Reports To: Board of Directors

Telluride Youth Lacrosse Association (TYLA) is a premier organization dedicated to promoting and developing lacrosse at all levels. Our mission is to foster a positive environment where athletes can grow, develop, and achieve their full potential. Position Overview:
The Executive Director (ED) is the key management leader of TYLA. The ED is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Management:
   - Develop and implement strategic plans that meet the club’s goals and objectives.
   - Oversee the club’s operations, including program development, coaching, and event planning.
   - Hire, train, and supervise staff, ensuring a high level of performance and morale.
   - Maintain effective communication with the Board of Directors, providing timely updates and reports.

2. Fundraising and Development:
   - Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies.
   - Identify and cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant organizations.
   - Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns.
   - Ensure compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations and best practices.

3. Marketing and Public Relations:
   - Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the club and its programs.
   - Represent the club at public events, meetings, and media engagements.
   - Foster positive relationships with the community, including local schools, businesses, and other organizations.

-Coordinate with other local club Directors—Soccer, Baseball, Hockey, Basketball


4. Program Development and Oversight:
   - Oversee the development and implementation of all lacrosse programs, including youth, recreational, and competitive teams.
   - Ensure programs are safe, inclusive, and meet the needs of participants.
   - Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.

5. Board Administration and Support:
   - Assist the Board in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
   - Attend Board meetings and provide support as needed.
   - Serve as a liaison between the Board and staff.

 6. Operational Management

     - Field reservations and team logistics

     - Equipment and uniform management 

 

7. Continuous Learning and Professional Development

- Staying updated on trends, best practices, and emerging issues in the non-profit sector. This includes attending workshops, conferences, and networking events, as well as seeking opportunities for professional growth.

8. Outsource

-- Find someone to Manage the club’s budget, ensuring financial stability and growth.

-- Find someone to - Manage the club’s website, social media, and other communication channels

 
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a sports or non-profit organization.
- Proven experience in fundraising and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of lacrosse and a passion for the sport is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Certified USA Lacrosse coach
  • Must pass Background check

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
